SUGGESTIONS FOR USE: COOKING AND MAINTENANCE

Revol porcelain withstands extreme temperatures, within reason. We advise against immediate transfer from the freezer to the oven: we suggest that you defrost or allow the dish to return to room temperature beforehand! This is especially true for dishes with handles.

Revol products are designed to be used in ovens up to 300°C/572°F, for broiling, caramelizing, and generally bringing out all the subtle flavors of your recipes. They guarantee excellent temperature maintenance. Tests run on a Revol dish of a casserole baked in the oven at 200°C/392°F and then cooled to room temperature, showed that the casserole stayed at the right temperature for 1h30 after having been taken out of the oven.

Revol products are practical and are microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe.

REVOL OFFERS TWO TYPES OF PRODUCTS:

All our products made of culinary porcelain are made either of white clay or black clay. They are then usually glazed (but not always, for example Basalt collection is not glaze, Equinoxe or Solid are partially glazed) in white, color, or even black with a cast-iron effect. These products can be used in the oven, microwave, and the freezer. They are however incompatible with gas or induction stovetops.

Products in the REVOLUTION range. All are compatible with gas stovetops in addition to the oven, microwave, and freezer. Only a few among them, those with a grey disc on the underside, are compatible with induction.

In summary, other than your REVOLUTION cocotte, none of our products can be used on a gas stovetop.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES:

DIRECT SOURCES OF HEAT: Do not use on portable stoves or any other source of direct heat. With the exception of the REVOLUTION range, Revol products should not be used over flames, even when using a heat difuser, as the flame concentrates the heat in one spot and the dish may break.

SHIFTS IN TEMPERATURE: Do not subject your dish to extreme temperature changes: for example, by placing a very cold ingredient in the middle of a very hot dish, or using your dish in a pizza or bread oven where the temperature is not even throughout. Adding cold water to a hot dish can also create thermal shock. Similarly, one should avoid cooking small pieces in the center of a large dish, which creates heat concentration in a single area of the dish and it may break. In this case, we suggest placing a bit of water at the bottom of the dish before putting it in the oven. When defrosting a dish, we suggest placing it directly into a cold oven before turning on the oven: the dish and the oven will heat up simultaneously. Avoid preheating empty dishes. It is best in that case to put a bit of water at the bottom of the dish.

OVEN: Maximum temperature of the oven: 300°C/572°F. Always use gloves to remove the dish. Be careful not to bake an empty dish.

BROILER: when using under a broiler, leave at least 7cm (2.75 inches) between the edge of the dish and the heat source.

MICROWAVE: the handles may become hot after microwaving for a long time. You must use gloves to remove the dish from the microwave.

CLEANING: Wash by hand or in the dishwasher. To remove stubborn residues, fill the dish with hot soapy water, soak it for 10 to 20 minutes, rinse and then dry.
