“A collection at the intersection of design, gastronomy, and art.”
With Contre-Jour, the French manufacturer Revol unveils a sculptural and evocative collection designed by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance.Conceived as a composition in chiaroscuro, it elevates the table into an artistic landscape. A new grog-infused ochre ceramic body, a play of solids and voids, and an architectural approach to presentation —Contre-Jour explores a territory where material, light, and the culinary gesture engage in a powerful dialogue. This collaboration marks a significant new milestone following the success of Caractère, reaffirming an ever more daring vision of the art of the table.

Setting a table is, in itself, a form of composition.
Gestures, objects, and the silences between them belong to a shared language of gastronomy and the visual arts.
Photos Anne-Claire Héraud©Beyond the table, the pieces take on a different status when brought together. Stacked, they acquire a sculptural dimension, becoming true domestic totems that evoke the verticality and formal purity of Constantin Brancusi’s works.
Each piece is individually designed, both for its function and for the dialogue it creates with the others.
The design pays as much attention to solid forms as to the interstices they reveal.
Open, flared shapes combine with more enclosed forms, creating a living architectural scenography that evolves with shifting inspirations.
Voids become moments of breathing space, modulating the perception of the table through use and light, in a play of tensions and balances reminiscent of the quiet compositions of Giorgio Morandi

Founded in 1768 in Saint-Uze, in the Drôme region, Revol is a French family-run manufacture that has upheld porcelain excellence for nine generations. Committed to responsible production that respects both people and the environment, it prioritises the recycling of its raw materials while investing in cutting-edge technologies that ensure consistency and precision.
For Contre-Jour, the teams developed a new ochre, grog-infused ceramic body. Enriched with 25% chamotte — recycled porcelain that has been fired and reused — it reveals a visible mineral texture and a natural chromatic depth. The firing process enhances the material, making each piece unique, at the intersection of industrial mastery and artisanal sensitivity.
This new body is the result of a long innovation process led by Revol’s R&D teams, driven by a constant ambition to pioneer material recycling while reducing the impact on natural resources.
At the intersection of design, gastronomy, and art, Contre-Jour asserts a singular vision of the art of the table: one that is composed, contemplated, and experienced.
