Designed by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, the Contre-Jour collection reveals a subtle balance between solid forms and negative space, shadow and light. Inspired by art, architecture and gastronomy, it combines flared shapes with more structured lines, offering chefs great freedom in plating. The collection introduces a new ochre ceramic body, exclusively developed by Revol using its own proprietary expertise. Enriched with 25% grog made from fired, ground and recycled porcelain, it reveals a naturally mineral texture and a distinctive character. Paired with Almond Green, Olive Green and Mocha Brown glazes, the ochre ceramic creates a warm, silky palette inspired by nature. Contre-Jour is also available in white porcelain, featuring a raw exterior finish contrasted with an Alabaster White glaze on the inside. Combining rich textures, deep tones and pure lines, the collection provides an elegant setting for the most refined culinary creations.
Noé Duchaufour Lawrence and REVOL met in 2018 to start a collaboration that would prove successful. The idea was to create a special collection to celebrate REVOL's 250th anniversary. The Caractere collection is the perfect combination of craftsmanship and French heritage. Manufacturer and designer worked hand in hand for a year to create a collection whose story carries strong values. Today, I work in a wide range of disciplines and materials. It is important for me to have a strong narrative. I approach design with instinct and sensitivity and have worked on a variety of projects in architecture, furniture design, interiors, and limited edition collections. My collaborations include Ligne Roset, Cinna, Saint Louis, Hermès, Ceccotti Collezioni, Bernhardt Design, Sèvres, Mobilier National, Dior, Baccarat, La Chance, Petite Friture, Zanotta, Tacchini, ZaoZuo, Kundalini, Neal Feay, and now REVOL. My approach to design celebrates the meeting of heritage, materials, industrial design, natural forms, and artisanal craftsmanship. A sensitive and talented creator, praised by critics and awarded numerous prizes, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance is an outstanding storyteller. Chosen by Revol to imagine an anniversary collection for the 250th anniversary of the factory, the designer drew inspiration from the uniqueness and daily life of the Drôme factory to give birth to "Caractère." Like a calligrapher, he unfolds an alphabet composed of elementary shapes and signs a collection that bears witness to bicentennial know-how.
