At its origin lies the charcoal stroke as a source of inspiration. Through its bold and delicate lines, natural irregularities emerge, giving each piece its distinctive narrative strength. Hand-deglazed, the edges of the pieces reveal raw black clay, resulting in irregular objects encircled by black rims. The imperfection of the forms beautifully reflects the delicate balance between the ceramic material and the demanding production process. The Caractère collection also showcases meticulous craftsmanship: the chosen thickness of the lines and the rhythm created by the height of the edges are the result of dedicated research to ensure elegance on the table. Invisible to the naked eye, the delicate foot of each piece lends the collection an airy quality, contributing to its overall poetry. While the collection is available in pure, glossy white to blend seamlessly into contemporary settings, it also features a palette of warm colors evocatively named after spices and the culinary inspiration they evoke. Caractère promises an unparalleled culinary journey, punctuated by sunny hues and vibrant flavors. A sensitive and talented creator, celebrated by critics and awarded numerous prizes, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance is a unrivalled storyteller. Chosen by Revol to design an anniversary collection marking the 250th year of the manufacture, the designer drew inspiration from the uniqueness of the brand to create the Caractère collection. Like a calligrapher, he crafted a collection that embodies the bicentennial expertise of the Drôme-based house.
Noé Duchaufour Lawrence and REVOL met in 2018 to start a collaboration that would prove successful. The idea was to create a special collection to celebrate REVOL's 250th anniversary. The Caractere collection is the perfect combination of craftsmanship and French heritage. Manufacturer and designer worked hand in hand for a year to create a collection whose story carries strong values. Today, I work in a wide range of disciplines and materials. It is important for me to have a strong narrative. I approach design with instinct and sensitivity and have worked on a variety of projects in architecture, furniture design, interiors, and limited edition collections. My collaborations include Ligne Roset, Cinna, Saint Louis, Hermès, Ceccotti Collezioni, Bernhardt Design, Sèvres, Mobilier National, Dior, Baccarat, La Chance, Petite Friture, Zanotta, Tacchini, ZaoZuo, Kundalini, Neal Feay, and now REVOL. My approach to design celebrates the meeting of heritage, materials, industrial design, natural forms, and artisanal craftsmanship. A sensitive and talented creator, praised by critics and awarded numerous prizes, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance is an outstanding storyteller. Chosen by Revol to imagine an anniversary collection for the 250th anniversary of the factory, the designer drew inspiration from the uniqueness and daily life of the Drôme factory to give birth to "Caractère." Like a calligrapher, he unfolds an alphabet composed of elementary shapes and signs a collection that bears witness to bicentennial know-how.
